Electrolytes
Dear Sunriders,
Question: One of our distributors asked, What are electrolytes?
Answer:
Electrolytes are another name for minerals. All plants contain some minerals. Sometimes they are referred to as trace elements or trace minerals. Even water contains some minerals, but unfortunately they are not in the form that the body can assimilate usually. But trace minerals are generally in all food, as well as vitamins. The minerals in our body are powerful conductors, like electricity flowing through the wires in our homes. In the body, minerals or electrolytes are often referred to like spark of our body, like the spark plugs in the car, sparking electricity.
One trace mineral that is essential for the heart to pump is potassium. And when people are in hot weather, this mineral can be easily depleted or used up by the body. That is why many people can have a heat stroke which can lead to a heart attack, and even die because the body is "starved" or there is none. So drinking Fortune Delight supplies some of these trace minerals or electrolytes to keep the body in balance.
If the person is strenuously exercising, and working in the heat of summer, it is important for them to not only drink more water, but have minerals in the water to replace what may be used up. That is why Fortune Delight is very important, and even more important than drinking water. If a person wants to fortify the fortune to make it even more balanced with minerals or electrolytes, then adding Electrosport to the water is even more balanced with all of the trace minerals that the body needs. Fortune has some. Adding Electrosport gives a perfect balance, according to my studying and learning. Trace minerals are often not listed on the label. But some are listed on the label of Electrosport. It just happens to be a natural source of balanced minerals that are easy to be absorbed into the body.
Electrosport, however is not very palatable, or doesn't taste very good. That is why I just use a little bit added to my fortune and add plenty of Stevia, via Sunny Dew or Sunectar or Suncare, depending on what country you are in. If I am doing two to four liters of fortune delight, I add the whole bottle of Electrosport to the Fortune. And it doesn't take much Electrosport to quickly bring the body back to balance or keep it in balance. It bonds with the minerals already in the Fortune Delight. There is a demonstration you can do. The color of Fortune is amber in color. The color of Electrosport is quite clear. But if you have a clear glass container, mix up the fortune. Then add the Electrosport, you can actually see the bonding of the two sources of minerals right before your eyes, as the reaction turns the Fortune Delight dark. It is amazing to watch.
I'm glad you asked this question, because I wonder how many others may not understand.
Simply, Electrolytes are nothing more than assumable trace minerals.
Gatorade and the such sport drinks, are a duplication of the minerals found in the urine. But unfortunately, the source they use for these minerals are not very good. They are a chemical conglomeration, that is not good for the body, it is my understanding. I have heard nutritional experts say that people waste their money on such sports drinks. If they really want to do what these products are supposed to do, then they should know about and drink Sunrider's Beverages. They really work.
Right now I have my SR sports bottle on my desk so I can drink my wonderful Fortune Delight, while I answer emails. I hope you do the same.
Last spring, while cleaning my yard, and planting flowers, I went too long in the heat, without paying attention to drinking my Fortune Delight. I became very dehydrated and was very ill with throwing up and diarrhea. That taught me a lesson, to carry my Fortune Delight with me every day, and especially when working outside in our extreme heat we have here in Utah this year.
So I am trying to give a warning to all about drinking more.
I hope this helps you to understand more.
Enthusiastically,
Sharon Farnsworth
